450 Fenton Lane #901
IL 60185 West Chicago,
Fadal, originally founded as Fadal Engineering in 1961 by Francis, Adrian, and Dale D. de Caussin, is a renowned American manufacturer of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine tools. The name “Fadal” is derived from the first letters of the founders’ names. The company started in California and quickly gained recognition for its innovative machining solutions. In the 1980s, Fadal revolutionized the CNC machine market with the introduction of its affordable vertical machining centers (VMCs). These machines, known for their precision, reliability, and user-friendly controls, significantly lowered the barrier to entry for small and medium-sized manufacturers, helping to democratize access to high-quality machining technology.Fadal continued to expand its product line throughout the 1990s, becoming a leader in the CNC industry. However, the company faced challenges in the early 2000s and was eventually acquired by Giddings & Lewis, which was later acquired by MAG Industrial Automation Systems. After several ownership changes, Fadal ceased operations in 2008.In 2014, Fadal was revived by Merrill Technologies Group and was re-established as Fadal Engineering, LLC. The company resumed production of its classic VMCs and introduced new models, maintaining its legacy of providing robust, affordable, and easy-to-use CNC machining solutions. Today, Fadal continues to serve a diverse range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, medical, and general manufacturing, with a commitment to quality and innovation.
