Haas Automation, Inc. was founded in 1983 by Gene Haas in Oxnard, California. The company began by producing the first fully automatic, programmable collet indexer—a device used to position parts for machining with high precision. This innovation laid the foundation for Haas Automation’s future growth.

In 1988, Haas Automation introduced its first vertical machining center (VMC), the VF-1, which was priced at an affordable $50,000. This move revolutionized the industry by making high-quality CNC machines accessible to a broader market. The VF-1 set the standard for the company’s commitment to quality, performance, and value.

Over the years, Haas Automation has grown to become one of the largest builders of CNC machine tools in the world. The company operates a large manufacturing facility in Oxnard, where it produces a wide range of products. Haas Automation is known for its innovative approach, reliable machines, and exceptional customer support. Today, Haas machines are used by manufacturers globally in various industries, including aerospace, automotive, medical, and metalworking.
