Spindle maintenance

According to DIN  31051 maintenance is defined as "combination of all technical and administrative measures as well as the management measures during the life-cycle of the object being considered, required to maintain its fully functional condition or to return it to this condition so that it can perform the required function".
Spindle maintenance includes servicing, inspection, repair and improvement.   When devising maintenance, consideration is given to the internal and external requirements of the company, as well as the repair strategies, and repair objectives are tailored to the objectives of the company.

Spindle maintenance is often offered under spindle servicing as a service. This encompasses, for example, the removal and installation of the spindle, checking and optimisation of the bearings, repair of the spindles or balancing of the spindle unit.

Detailed steps of the procedure are outlined in an overview of the repair services provided by Spindeldoctor:

9. Preparation of the disassembly report

15. Trial run and acceptance with a minimum test duration of 8 hours
16. Preparation of a test documentation

Trial run:
After successful refurbishment, your spindle will undergo a trial run at our facility for a minimum of 8 hours, utilizing the highest speed, and extensively documented.

Service provided:
Summary of the installation of a motor spindle:

– Deployment of a customer service technician for on-site installation of the motor spindle.
– Services include mechanical installation, connection of supply resources, and adjustment of M19 or spindle orientation.
– Measurement of machine geometry in X/Y/Z, dorn position, spindle runout, concentricity, and tool withdrawal force.
– The spindle installation is documented with a comprehensive test procedure and requires your confirmation.
– The technician will process the first test part together with you.
– Optionally: Adequate lifting equipment must be provided for internal transport.
– Adjustment of a possible Cycle 19 / G7 and Taori Cycle as part of the commissioning, if the machine geometry is suitable.
– Note on potential disturbances of drive controllers during the installation of overhauled spindles due to aging or wear.
– Possible rework required if the machine geometry could not be measured before spindle removal.
– Geometry verification necessary; statements can only be made after verification.
– Adherence to the Spindeldoctor checklist "Installation of Motor + External Spindles in Customer Facilities."
